Mixing light sources

The subject is properly illuminated by florescent light resulting in good white balance

When there is a mixture of light sources, such as when sunlight enters through a skylight into a room that is also illuminated by tungsten or fluorescent light, the auto-white balance feature will operate on the strongest component. The weaker components of the illumination sources will also show some influence on the white balance.

It's best to start by checking the image in the liquid crystal display and make some trial shots, varying the camera position each time. You may even obtain some interesting effects due to the difference in colors inside and outside the window's light.
